The most advanced Smart City on the island
A well planned and sustainable city
Build your own premises within one of our precincts, or opt for one of the city’s three shopping centres – Les Allées, Kendra, and Bagatelle Mall (which welcomes over 700,000 visitors a month). You will definitely find plenty of options to target your consumer base.
Thanks to its strategic location, generous parking spaces, and access via two of the island’s motorways, Moka regularly welcomes customers from across the island in its bars, restaurants and cafés.
A multifaceted offer
Within the buzzing city centre
More than a neighbourhood, Telfair, the Smart City’s future city centre is set to become a buzzing urban area where you can live, work, have fun, and take care of your well-being. With its squares, pedestrian-only streets, restaurants, bars and stalls, as well as La Promenade, which runs through it, the precinct promotes a strong sense of community and is very well connected.
Because bringing life to this area is our priority, we are working hard with international architects, and the Village Well place-making agency to make Telfair a vibrant destination unique in Mauritius.
Telfair’s urban development is different from an organically developed city. The buildings are all positioned on the edge of boulevards with ground-floor shopping areas (a number of which will be reserved for restaurants) and easy walking interconnection between buildings. As a restaurant owner you will be able to make the most of the wide space available as terrace as well as the significant foot traffic.
On La Promenade
La Promenade is the Smart City’s main thoroughfare and will feature pedestrian-only and cycling lanes, as well as generous green spaces. It will also offer outdoor fitness areas and free WiFi access.
La Promenade will be lined with buildings, with stores on their ground floor and offices, apartments and even hotels on the upper floors. Today, it is used by the area’s residents and employees as a jogging course or simply for a stroll.
Over time, multiple projects are planned to help bring La Promenade to life and keep it buzzing 24/7. A significant opportunity for small food vendors wishing to offer street food!
In a mall
Three shopping centres from industry leader, Ascencia, are located within the Smart City, including Bagatelle, the island’s largest shopping mall which welcomes 700,000 visitors per month. Les Allées in Helvétia and Kendra in St Pierre also offer other possibilities.
A Prime Location
« Après avoir habité le Nord pendant longtemps, j’ai choisi d’ouvrir mon restaurant à Moka pour profiter de la qualité de vie de la ville. Aujourd’hui, j’habite à proximité de mon restaurant, de l’école de mes enfants et de toutes les facilités sportives et commerciales de Moka. Nous ne nous voyons pas vivre ailleurs ! »
